"We in Montana are among the top eight states for
methamphetamine abuse in the nation"

US Senator Max Baucus August 2000

"Of all the communities being hit by meth production
and use, the Flathead has exploded"
US Senator Max Baucus August 2001

"The labs are especially pervasive in the Flathead area"
Mike Batista, head of the Criminal Investigation Division, Montana Justice Department

Methamphetamine use and production continues to be our single most serious threat. Although overall number of meth labs dismantled in the year 2001 was down from the year 2000, meth use is on the rise. It is our belief that intense pressure on manufacture of the drug in our region have moved producers to surrounding areas.

In the past five years we have seen a 500% increase in methamphetamine related crime and associated problems in our community. We know many crimes against persons (domestic abuse, assaults, rapes) and property crimes (burglaries, thefts, forgeries) have a link to methamphetamine use. Improving your knowledge of meth can significantly increase your ability to successfully prevent you from becoming a victim. We hope this web site will provide you with some of the tools you need to overcome the ravages of this drug.
